Welcome To Our Blue Mountain Rental Cabin!

Hi and welcome to my website and thanks for your interest in my rental cottage at Blue Mountain, Ontario. Located at the bottom of the apple bowl ski run right behind the Blue Mountain inn, this chalet has been used by my family for over 30 years. It is an ideal place for a family vacation and for entertaining friends. It is not by any means the fanciest of cottages but it is rustic, cozy, well equipped, and located within a 2 minute walk from all the best facilities, skiing, restaurants, and shopping that the Blue Mountain resort area has to offer. I have spent some of the best times of my life here with my friends and family and I hope that you enjoy it as much as I have!

About Our Rental Cottage

This chalet was designed by my uncle and built by my dad, in the early 1970’s. I was about 9 years old and I remember going up on the weekends to help. The chalet is a one and a half story cottage. It is about 1100 sq. ft. and features 3 cozy Bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, a large warm living room with a massive stone fireplace that is open on both sides and capable of burning 4’ logs. The chalet has an open cabin design, and the feature that seems to attract the most attention are the two chimney beds that overlook the living room, and the upper loft, with its four massive windows that look out onto the mountain.

The cabin upstairs features the master bedroom with a comfortable queen size bed and a large window that faces out to the mountain. Immediately next to the master bedroom is a guest bedroom. This is a larger room with two twin beds and a ladder that provides access to the upper loft area. The two twin beds that my family referred to as chimney beds are built on either side of the chimney in the upstairs hallway and look over the large living room that is below. Also upstairs are the two bathrooms, one full four piece bathroom and a second powder room.

The main floor features the huge living room and well equipped kitchen that are separated by the massive stone fireplace. It also has the 2nd guest room complete with queen size bed and a medium size room by the main front door, that we usually called the mud room as invariably it was the place where we removed our wet messy ski boots, before going into the house.

My favorite time of the year back then was the winter. I had all my school friends up to the chalet on the weekends and over the holidays for vacation, and every morning we would be fed, and then ushered out the door with our skis in hand to ski away the day. It’s just a 2 minute walk to the ski lifts and off we went! The funny thing is as I got older my interest in the season did not change only my favorite pastime. Out the cabin door I would go and once again it’s just a 2 minute walk to my favorite bar at the inn, or to the various new restaurants, stores and eateries that make up the blue mountain village.

Of course not every one in my family where as into skiing as I was. They would take advantage of the many other things to do in the Blue Mountain area and in fact I have listed just a small number of them on this site. My favorites were go-carting, Sauble Beach, and Wasaga Beach with all the action there!

There really is no other cabin or cottage like this chalet in the area, and none that are as reasonably priced and within such close access to all the amenities that Blue Mountain has to offer, and I hope you have a chance to take advantage of our hospitality and that you enjoy this place as much as I have.

Security Deposit
1755787 Ontario In. Inc. collects a security deposit .to ensure compliance with the Terms and Conditions of the Rental Agreement. The security deposit is held for 5-8 days, or where applicable, until phone bills/pay per view bills have cleared. All or part of the security deposit may be used for any breakage or damage, long distance or pay per view charges or for any incidents of non-compliance with the rental contract (which may include cleaning costs, and the cost of any repairs).

Last Minute Cabin Rentals
All bookings made less than 30 days prior to the rental date, must be accompanied with the rent and security deposit paid in full.

Cancellation Policy
All cancellations must be in writing. In the event of a cancellation 30 days or less prior to the start of the rental date, the renter will forfeit 100% of the rental cost. If a cancellation is made 31 days or more prior to the rental date, the renter will forfeit their 50% deposit. Be smart! Protect yourself, protect your children, and purchase travel insurance that will protect your entire family during your vacation rental holiday. Get your insurance here! 

Telephone Usage
Use of the rental property phone is limited to local calling. All long distance calls must be charged to the renters calling card. Any charges accumulated to the phone will be deducted from the security deposit along with a $15 service charge per call.

Cleaning
Cottage cleaning is not included with the rental. It is the responsibility of the renters to ensure the cabin and property is left thoroughly clean and tidy. This means that a thorough cleaning must be done by you and your party prior to departure!! Properties must be left in the condition in which they were found. Please do not leave your garbage behind! All garbage must be taken by you and not left at the cottage! Deductions from your security deposit will result if the above cleaning policy is not adhered to.
